@eedee I use 2.5W for felt that's around 1-1.5 thick, it's synthetic so actually melts the fibers and leave a really nice edge. If you go faster with 2 or 3 passes the results are better and no burnt edges. The disadvantage of 5.5W is the spot size is larger but it should work fine.
@vilhjsig If you have T2Laser you can change parameters easily, to reverse the axis you just click the option in the settings menu. T2Laser will run the CNC nicely, it's what I use. It also supports 3D images.
if you have a multimeter you can check what is going on. The s wire should go to the pwm pin on the laser and should read 5 volts when on and 0 when off. The - wire should be grounded. The + wire should be 12v continuously.
@nottingham82 Just done that it is the same and still at a 45 deg angle, When on draw it prints the correct way but still 45 deg
I have changed back to the Eleks draw machine with Laser on, hit RST it is now engraving at 90 deg yay but the laser is not burning as well as before, in the control screen.
