@nottingham82 thanks for that... I think however that given the price versus performance I am leaning towards the 2.5w until I gain a bit more experience with the machine and software... and I will be avoiding banggood like the plague given the feedback I have seen! They seem just as bad as the Chinese seller I had on eBay. @Zax ... hadnt realised the CO2 wouldnt do metal so thanks for the heads up... and just scared the bejesus out of myself looking at the price of the fibre lasers! lol... pretty sure I would be on the way for a divorce if I purchased one of them!!
Anyways... thanks for all the input ... it has been most illuminating and has definitely helped me make the choice so for now I will order the 2.5W module and grab Zax's trial software initially and watch this space for my first burn!!
So.... final update on this I think.... I have raised a complaint with ebay to get a refund as the seller Comyur just kept trying to fob me off with a few quid refund as long as I closed the case... that WASNT happening... then...to my surprise they sent me a message via ebay but from a DIFFERENT seller ID of 2015happydeal asking me to close the case and again offering £10 compensation!!! It would appear that this shady seller has more than one ID and to circumvent their request showing on the ebay case they have contacted me using an alternative ID.... f@#/@#ng Cheeky b#@st@#ds! lol
Needless to say I do not expect to get either a return label or funds to post it back to them by tomorrow and hopefully ebay will get me a refund whereupon I will simply buy a new kit ....probably from this site as it seems to be a lot more reputable than these Hong Kong Shysters! Thanks to all that have helped with this though!
@mmarujo what is your native language. I think we have a bit of a language barrier but there are many non english speakers here that may be able to get to the root of your problem. I dont know if its a problem with your font, or you are doing something that is tiny and your machine cant go that small, or maybe you have a hardware problem.
@PhotonPhil Remove the Nano from the controller board and see if it will flash the firmware disconnected. If so you most likely have a bad capacitor, and can either replace it or get a new board. If the Nano doesn't work disconnected then it's most likely lost the bootloader, Z would probably know if that's what causes D4 to flash. I don't know if their Nano's have the ICSP connector to reflash them, most clone Nano's do.
Two things are important.
1 Start software as administrator.
2 Change decimal to point instead of a comma ( Go to setting. Region & language. Extra settings. Change numbers. Advanced settings).
