an air gap under the wood helps too. as you add air and heat you get gasses from the wood. I find I get alot of hanging chads unless I elevate the wood so the gasses can escape from underneath the wood. Honeycomb works well or just put somthing thin under the corners of the wood.
I did follow step above ahead, but does not work. I eventually find the right way after 12 hours pain. I need to DownLoad EleksCAM Release v3.1.0 v,
together with download and install
VC windows 32bits
VC windows 64bits
Go to main menu to install driver (usb 340) (located on the top right bar with the triangle point down icon)
connect usb from laser machine to computer
*Go to Control Page, select port number
(may need to refresh port to get the port number but Find serial port Failed still shown in Gcode window, don't worry )
Go to Setting Page, hit the RST Rom, then computer will install necessary file which I believe it is VC32 bit and 64 bit
Back to Control Page, refresh port again, Serial port will be found and ready to experiment EleksMaker Program.
@mrmister which ever you are using. I have a 3 axis board on mine so I use the Z axis so I don't have to Change the cables all the time. But just change the number of steps of the Y axis so your rotary axis will do a complete revolution for 360. Doesn't have to be 360 any thing will work as long as you stretch the pic to that value so it raps round the cylinder
Thank you for answering me. I have adjusted the belts again, and I just having a play again now. There are many different option to choose when setting it up and different ones seem to work better with different texts. The wood is quite dark, which I don't think does the etchings much justice. But given that I have never used one before, or even looked at doing anything like this, I believe its a case of me trying to run before I can walk. But with the help of you guys and reading other forums and watching more YouTube videos than ever before, I feel that I will get there.
That's ugly! It's probably a settings issue but I don't use EleksCAM so hopefully someone else can help you. If you want to test your machine with T2Laser there's a free trial (it costs $39.95 to register).
@nottingham82 I have a similar problem, If I burn a circle, square or line it moves well, but when I try a complex image I have problems with the steps, moves more to the rigth than to the left. I'll try to change belt. many thanks.
I think another problem could be that some of the wheels is not free enougth.
