It's cutting to the correct size now, I don't know what changed but it's working now. I do see that when you tell InkScape to "stroke to path" it changes the location of the object and the size just a little. But when you open the file in Candle it's almost the same size. Thank you for the help. Dave.....
Thank you for your response, you have verified the thoughts I was having on the subject.
I will use the 5 V TTL To control the laser by turning it off and on and the button on the back of the unit to go to low power when needed.
I am using a breakout board that controls the steppers and other functions of my Home designed and built cnc router.
The plan is to use the laser as another tool while I complete the projects that I am already doing with only cutting tools. Wood-burning by way of the laser will add an entirely new dimension to the work I am doing.
In my opinion less worry about liability and more concern for Goodwill and customer satisfaction would stand them in much better position.
It's not really a custom board, just an older Eleks L6 that I had spare but you could use a Mana SE. I removed the connectors from the old board which simplified the wiring, especially for the flex cable. My machine is an older design and the laser power supply doesn't support PWM so it's only on/off from software and power is controlled from the pot on the control panel. I use it for cutting and the EleksLaser for engraving.
I feel so stupid. there are two buttons on the top of the laser chip. the one on the left is an always on button. I pressed that button which switches the lase into command mode and then it responded to the software.
Hello. I've been using an engraver (2500 mW) for a year now and I needed one more. I bought one, but by 5.5 watts.
But I ran into a problem. I'm using PicSender. She has a good reputation and I'm used to it. It works without fail on the old engraver till now! But on the new engraver she does not burn the same NC files. The motors run, but the laser does not burn.
If you press SW2, it just burns everything. If you press SW1, the laser only works as a pointer.
On the old engraver there is no TTL and the controller is slightly different. Previous version. But it works. And the new engraver does not work, as it is necessary.
The same problem is in other similar programs: PicSender, GRBL Controller, Engraver Master...

Multi-pass is only for vector, it will turn the laser off and wait (dwell) for the time you select before continuing. This is due to vector cutting using full power and also it prevent the material getting too hot and causing a fire, the delay allows everything to cool down.
