I'm considering to buy an A3 w/ 2.5W laser to mainly cut 180g metalized paper, photographic paper and, eventually, cardboard, EVA and balsa wood.
Specifically regarding paper, I would like to know if is possible to cut 180g paper without leaving burned edges at, at least, one of the sides of the sheet.
I'm currently using a Cameo Silhouette to cut paper but I'd like to have a more versatile machine...
The laser will burn edges of your paper, and I don't think it can cut the items you said, this machine is used for engraving.
I agree with @John. If you want cut paper without burned edges, buy at least 40W CO laser cutter. Yes - they are bigger, but costs same or even are cheaper than 5.5w laser with moving equipment.
@MuuSer thanks replying.
Considering shopping cost and taxes here in Brazil, a 40W CO2 laser would cost around R$ 6.000,00 (U$1700) vs R$ 1.500,00 (U$ 420,00) for the 2.5W.
get a cricut https://home.cricut.com/ (based in the State of Utah, which means you are likely to be able to discuss in your native tongue with someone about the machine)

If you want to cut paper and/or metalized paper those machines are the better options
