Engrave and cut - how?
-
Hi. I typically export a plt file that i want to cut, and then engrave it from a jpg file.
But after it is cut it takes a lot of time to allign it for engraving purposes. I have read that it is possible to cut and engrave using one file. But how to achieve that? Could someone provide me with a step by step tutorial? Of course the settings for cutting and engraving are different and I have no idea how to combine them

@LukaszL I'm confused by your statement that it's a PLT file to engrave. That's a vector format so I am not exactly sure what you are doing.
If it's an image and you wait to cut it you simple enable Sketch Plus mode and trace the contour and then it will automatically engrave and cut out.
Perhaps if you show me an example I will understand and can help you.

Ok, so I'll show it on a jpg.
So here is the jpg. I'd like it to first engrave the "test" and then cut the contour of the heart
So as I read I should trace the heart contour, I clicked on the contour one time
The output would look like that:
As it showed me, it would first engrave everything, including the heart contour and then cut the contour.If i trace the contour from inside and outside:
It would cut 2 contours, similar but a little offset to each other so it won't be cut as it should. I was using sketch plus mode.
I guess my question is how to make only one tracing line, not two as there is on the photo
Thanks in advance

@LukaszL In your example I would trace the inside of the heart.
Select manual trace, click near the inside edge and it will trace only that line. Then disable trace and generate the g-code. As you can see it's only the inside that will be cut.

@Zax
Yup that's right, but it treats "the leftovers" of the contour as things to be engraved

@mrmister
Here you go, The first one was using 0.2mm contour and the second is hairline.
Something went wrong ant I cant upload a file directly, heres a link from some hosting site.

If you don't want to engrave the heart shape then you can't do it like that, probably easier to use 2 files.
