Outlines and .SVG files.
I've been experimenting with the EleksMaker Evolution Desktop CAM software, and I've come into some trouble loading .SVG files. Also, I am currently unable to get the outline setting to work on the pic carve. Any tips on getting this working?
For outline look at @animes25 solution:
SVG files did not work for me also, but look at:
for using InkScape...
SVG did not work for me either: error message "wrong svg version"
Inkscape is most current version, elekscam is most current version.
pretty sure svg files are not yet supported. You need to export them as png images. That is the easiest way. (fyi I could be wrong because I am not a user of elekscam nor benbox)
To open SVG files with EleksCAM software you need to have svg.dll file in your C:\Program Files (x86)\EleksMaker\EleksCAM folder. You can download from here: http://babykoa.la/svg.dll or if you're a dev then with nuget: Install Svg -Version 1.7.0
Outline works when running EleksCAM as admin.
I'm waiting on a replacement ManaSE board for my engraver since it broke after a few hours of use.
Thanks @Stephen-Mann, now is possible to see SVG files in EleksCAM, but it can't draw them at least with EleksEGG. The behaviour is odd. It draws only a dots where pen must be up. At least so seems...
Other PicCarve renderings works well as also direct Gcode sending.
I've managed to import SVG files OK, but the scaling seems to be pretty random - Is there any way to control the final size of the drawing when importing an SVG? (there is an intermediate size dialog for bmp files, but not for SVG)
inkscapes svg files have a size. It defaults to pixels but you can change it to mm. My guess (I dont use elekscam) would be that you need to set the proper size in mm that you want your svg. save it. then import to elekscam.
Tried that - it doesn't seem to make a difference - objects can be sized by pixels, points or cm/mm - but I created a 3CM square - saved it and when EleksCAM drew it, it was 11cm square.
