Darn, thats a shame, As for my own personal machine, I had ideas of the laser folding away so as to protect it from dust ingress.
The other option I guess, is to have a 2nd set of homing micro switches in series, so that when both activated, they trigger a PWM signal generator/servo tester to fold the laser away interdependently of the EleksMana Electronics.
Just a word of caution here, don't run the limit switch wires close to the motor wires. The interference can cause the homing to stop in the wrong place. Use an opto isolator if you get this problem or route the wires differently.
I am using the Genuine EleksMana mother boards, not copies.
The real ones seem to be more reliable & better build quality & "simply work" with no messing about.
Pics to follow shortly, just finishing a build.
@Grant-B Yes absolutely, I replaced the board in mine with an older Eleks L1 (as it was spare). I removed the sockets from the old board to make the connection to the ribbon cable easier but I've seen others solder directly to it. You can also get a drop in replacement board that will work but it's ~$100. Anything that runs Grbl or compatible firmware will work directly with T2Laser.
T2Laser does cutting very easily using vectors; it has multi-pass, grain compensation and other options that you may require. You can use the DXF colors to map to power levels for engraving and cutting within the same file if needed.
YES your assistance would be most welcomed re T2L.
I must admit to having read some excellent reviews of this product, & if it is as good as it sounds, the it will be worth the money for sure.
I understand that T2L has some design features, but my main need is to simply import DXF files into it & ONLY cut... not interested in etching at all, as the laser is simply a work tool i built, not a toy & it urgently needs to get busy lol.
Please get in touch when you have got back from your holiday, it would be great to learn as much as possible - much appreciated Sir.
