Here are some Christmas gifts I made for family and friends this year. Hope you all will enjoy them as well.
Did you spray paint the boards before engraving them? I suppose you did otherwise you'd have a difficult time getting everything looking correct.
Also, you used masking tape to limit the smoke burn. What kind of masking tape? I've tried a couple of different kinds but haven't had much success.
Good morning all. A recent issue has cropped up which I'm hoping isn't serious.
When I turn the laser on, the fan on the laser module is giving out a sqealing noise (which in my past experience with computer fans indicates a bearing going bad in the fan) but it eventually settles down and appears to work.
However, it also appears the laser module isn't being cooled properly because after an hour or so engraving the laser seems to self-lower its power level (the engraving either stops or becomes noticeably fainter) for a time before returning to full power.
I'm thinking I need to replace the fan, or lubricate it somehow if it isn't sealed.
Thoughts? Ideas? My machine is only a couple of months old, so I hope I don't need to replace the fan on a regular basis!
