I bought a 2.3w module from bangood and after 30 seconds or so of cutting 2mm balsa wood the size of the dot increased mid work. After inspectinmg the laser module i found that the little lens inside the laser has a burned dot in the middle. It causes a huge loss in power, the firsts lines that were lasered were perfect it cut right through the wood but after that, even with 5 passes it can't cut 2mm balsa even though adjusting the focus and useing the Z axis, it only makes the burnbed line wider.
I talked to banggod aftersales and they say that it is normal and if it burns a hole on a plastic bag the laser is ok... so now I have an expensive laser rock on my desk.
Is there any replacement for the diode?
here is a comparison showing the burned lens. I'll try a macro camera to take a better picture.
Thank you all,
