Laser engraving with svg file VS raster (jpg). Raster is better(??)
Hi Guys, would anyone be able to enlighten me on this one?
I am laser engraving on bamboo. I get pretty good results with a Jpeg image, using "Point" engraving method. But it's way to long as I need to engrave a whole series of items and will need to do that on a regular basis.
I though I could get good and quicker results using an svg file instead. But the result is not as sharp, and actually not really good at all.Could you point me to what I possibly do wrong? isn't svg supposed to be the first choice when it comes to sharpness?
My Machine:
A3 Pro 2500W bought last month. It has the new Blue Eleksmaker laser.Engraving with Jpeg:
I use EleksCAM software. I import directly the image with the PiCarve option.
I choose the "Point" method.Engraving with svg:
I import the svg file into inkscape and generate the Gcode (of the filled image) with the Elksmaker plugin. I check the code in Candle and it does look crisp. I Load the Gcode into EleksCAM software using the Load Gcode option.Thx!
