Image Engraving on Gmelina and Mahogany
Hi, I'd just like to share some of the work I've done with my A3 2.5W Eleksmaker. It takes a lot of trial and error to get the correct settings for each type of wood, but is rewarding once you get a decent combination of numbers in.
7x10.5x3/4 Inch Mahogany Block
Engrave Rate: 170
Rapid Rate: 2300
Min Power: 03
Max Power: 106
4 Inch Sided Regular Hexagon & 6x6 Inch Square Gmelina Blocks
Engrave Rate: 400
Rapid Rate: 3000
Min Power: 05
Max Power: 180
Well done, these are very nice.
These were all done on T2 Laser's velocity mode. I was able to pick up pointers from previous posts here on the forum for two of the biggest issues I encountered:
- Don't use a USB hub to connect the Arduino especially for long runtime projects. They have a tendency to disconnect every so often leaving you in tears with incomplete engravings.
- Reduced acceleration in the laser control settings must be disabled to get sharper lines.
@colorfulcabbage Wow, even more impressive!
These are some of the best results I've seen from Velocity Mode and are equal to the TTL results.
Cingratulations, what a nice projects!
How much time does it take to make each piece of them?
It takes around 3-12 hours depending on the settings for the type of wood and how much dark areas there are on image.
Thanks a bunch for your responding.
