Hacking the EleksTube IPS Clock
I started a hacking project on Reddit at https://www.reddit.com/r/arduino/comments/mq5td9/hacking_the_elekstube_ips_clock_anyone_tried_it/gxgwznn/?context=3
It's going well in the early days. My goal is to add Network Time Protocol (NTP), add animated clock faces, add Bluetooth and Android controls, and generally have fun.
My wish is for Eleks to make the source code to the firmware available. If they are not agreeable to that then my effort will be a replacement to their firmware.
I love my EleksTube IPS Clock and see so much potential!
Making good progress... I got the displays to operate. And, they operate fast... doing 85 Frames Per Second (FPS), so video is even possible.
Next up is to get Wifi working and NTP working.
The source code repository is available at https://github.com/SmittyHalibut/EleksTubeHAX
I want to ask for help! I bought such a watch and since the first character change, the display is blank. On Arduino port monitoring, it writes "Jpeg file format not supported" error.
We are many with this mistake!
I’m not a programmer, just a technician, but could you help me with a step-by-step description of how I could load the ElekstubeHAX code to the Elekstube IPS clokc, under Windows 7 or 10?
