Spindle max rpm permanently (Milling cutter motor)
-
I installed Grbl 1.1E and how do you want me to reset the machine?
-
@Paul-den-Toom It is reset, just by connecting again. So after doing this the laser or motor are both always on. That is very odd, do you have a volt meter to check the outputs?
-
I have measured on the motor output always 12VDC and on the laser output 12VDC and 0 vdc to 3.7 vdc depending on the settings
the laser output looks good to me but the motor output is always high at 12VDC
the motor output is also used by the 500mw laser
-
@Paul-den-Toom The motor output is a 12V PWM signal so you should be able to see it turn on / off, but may not see anything except 12V depending on the meter. An oscilloscope would show the square wave PWM signal.
-
i can do the measurement with an oscilloscope
Anyway i think i can make the conclusion that the board is broken.
There is a mosfet IRLR120N on the board is this one responsible for the motor output?
Are there somewhere schematic drawings available ?
I can ask Banggood for a new board and in the meantime try to find out what is wrong with this one
-
@Paul-den-Toom Yes, it switches the ground and is driven by D11 from the Nano. The circuit is very simple, there are schematics of the older design on the Benboxlaser.us forum.
-
it is still running When i take the nano out so i believe the mosfet is failing.
-
@Paul-den-Toom Without the Nano it is possible the gate input is floating so the motor may be on, you need to short the D11 to ground (with Nano out).
-
Okee , i connected D11 to ground with Nano out , no result still max output
-
@Paul-den-Toom I agree that your MOSFET has likely shorted.
-
@Zax
Thanks Zax next job convince Banggood to send a new board before i can join the burn club
-
@Paul-den-Toom Sad to hear about same issue, i think mosfet on my board is short too, but it worked good on first start (~30 sec), before i started testing speeds change
. I've bought another mainboard from Eleksmaker store. And i think that motor power must be from another power source (i hear RPM drops when stepper motors work).
-
I have received a new board from Banggood now everything is working.
i will replace the mosfet sometime and test it again just to be sure the mosfet is the troublemaker.

Resoldered mosfet LR120N all works fine. Got 3 of them just to be on the safe side
