Wine Glasses
-
did a wine glass today. 500 mm/min full power on a 2.5watt laser. Of course I used my rotary axis mod and I had to paint the glass then remove the paint after etching.

Awesome work Nottingham. You inspired me.!
-
Very nice job guys, these are awesome!

@EleksMaker-Z Z!!!!!!! Long time no talk! I have missed you so much that I had to come back just to say hi. How have you been?
-
@ThothLoki
hi, sorry , i am sick for 2 month , now i am come back
-
@EleksMaker-Z
Ouch. That's not good. I hope you are feeling better. As @nottingham82 showed, we CAN do glass with these lasers. You might need to change your promotional material saying what can/cannot be engraved
-
thanks bro , yes i never thought our machine can carving on glass! @nottingham82 @ThothLoki Great Work!
-
@ThothLoki haha some people might find it misleading since you cant do with bare glass and you have to manipulate it.
-
@nottingham82 but off course 40 watt lasers need ceramark to engrave metal so its not like it is out of the ordinary to need to spray on something to engrave a surface.
-
@nottingham82 @ThothLoki
how you guys carving on glass? need use mark pen to print it into black? with only 2.5w? thanks
-
@EleksMaker-Z spray paint with black primer. Then etch at 500-600 mm/min. Then remove paint with goof off brand paint remover. It also works with nail polish. I used my 2.5 watt. I have a 1.6 watt also but I havent tried it.

nice work!

I have had success with spray paint, cheap acrylic paint (washes off super easy) and black poster board for flat glass. Now we just need to find a medium to put on metal that would leave a mark.......

Hi Nottingham82,
I'm very much interested in your setup.
What components do I need to etch a glass like you did in here?
What's the "rotary axis mod"?TY
-
Hi we have just purchased this laser and would love to engrave wine glass.. would love to see how someone has set up a rotery axis mod.. thank you
-
@nottingham82 hi I have just recently purchased this laser and would love to know how you set up your rotery axis mod.. thanks
-
@melissa78 You can purchase a rotary axis for the machine, there are several available including one from Eleks. If you have a 3D printer you can also make one. Depending on the type of rotary module you may need to use software that supports it like T2Laser or manually update the Grbl parameters yourself.
