This file is great for showing it. Rather handy
So I must be making it either too tight or too loose. I've had it close, must keep missing the happy middle ground. You did say PITA though.... .
Back out with the allen key
Cheers once again!
Sorry to trouble with this again.
Still got some weird issue, machine can't cope with the center of the image but outer edges are spot on?
Circles on left horizontal engraved circles on right diagonal engraved. Diagonal still more pronounced but always center section of image.
It's almost like the laser is blipping on a second time mid pass when it shouldn't.
It can't be acceleration as the machine is moving for those sections of prints... can it?
Machine sounds/feels like its running fine, occasional odd sound but nothing is tying up with consistency of the perfect ghost - no major vibrations, no wheels skipping etc
I've managed to engrave a full photo and there were no obvious signs of issues. Only when trying these pesky thin lines.
in short... aaargh!
Have tried with reduced acceleration - slight improvement.
Read around and have now adjusted the current to the motors - this combined with reduced accel has improved somewhat. Still not perfect... I guess this where the adjustment becomes a kinda black art.
Must be the belts or something moving very slightly, although, my bed is 18mm mdf (well fitted and wedged) and workpiece is held in place.
See attached latest efforts on the right and another oddity on left... for some reason it started printing at half scale. complete reset fixed it.
haven't played with the current. As it came out the box.
Just rebuilt one side of Y axis. Acrylic is not symetrical. They are now parallel. No difference in print though.
Will test out some acceleration changes and report back.
Thanks once again!
Ps T2laser rocks . Very handy
Thanks for getting back.
Yep. Default Firmware. Is it worth downgrading?
I get what you mean on speeds on the diagonal, and the physics of it (mass etc).
I was losing steps on the X originally due to the carriage being far too tight on the rails. Now runs nicely. Y axis i cant work out. Have tensioned and re-tensioned.
Have got the 2500mw laser on it. See pic - mixture of settings used. engraving is only 30mm wide so quite pronounced on some. Have no idea what happened on the one on right.... any clues?
If the carriages are slightly misaligned would that cause a spring effect across the machine on direction change?
I have the A3 eleksmaker and I'm using T2Laser.
When diagonal engraving i get ghosting (bi directional on and off). If i horizontal engrave image is perfect.
Therefore I think it must be backlash on the Y axis.... Have checked the Y belts and they seem taught - it's not skipping teeth and if i tighten belts any more the carriage gets stiff. Y belts are no more or less taught than X belt.
If i slacken the belts completely the carriage runs smoothly (yes, i tightened them again before trying again ).
Does anyone have any ideas/sugguestions?
